I ended up with the Delta Skymiles/American Express. Anybody know how this is different from the regular American Express? Are there rewards or mileage with the card?

American Express by far!!!!!! the customer service is great, but the reason I love it is because the kind we use requires you to pay the full balance every month. You can't just pay the minimum payment. So therefore- no debt!!

I agree that they are evil but unless you want to go to a travel agent and pay cash, how do you book an airline ticket?

I think citicards is the best. they give you 5% cash back for just using the card. and if you pay it off each time, and dont get charged finance fees, you are getting money for free practically.

There's a really good MC from Keybank. They have 3 different APR's depending on how much of your balance you pay each month. Each month the APR is calculated according to the previous month's payment. I think the lowest is 10.9, then 14.9, then 16.9

The citi dividend card is great - they give cash back for the money you spend.

american express is not a credit card it is a charge card. if you want a credit card check online, there are so many types some give toys r us points for kids, airline miles and cash back.

I would rather pay with Credit cards than with cash, check etc . because if anything is wrong or any problem with the product I can ALWAYS dispute it. You get STUCK with situations like that if you paid with cash or check!!!!

I have AMEX Optima Platinum. I know that DH got rid of a few others over the years so I trust this has 0% or low interest.

DevorahF - we get points & we redeem them for Home Depot cards, Toys r Us/ baby's r us carsd, GAP cards & more.

But the Amex Platinum is not a card that you can really apply for, you need to stick with amex for a while and if you have good credit then they will offer it to you. It is great- they have great insurance policies, when you fly, luggage insurance, so so many perks. And there definitly is a yearly charge.
