We will be in Niagara/ Toronto/ Hamilton area on vacation and need some information on a hotel to stay in for Shabbos (walking distance to shul). Any help is greatly appreciated.
Any other communities in the general area? Someone mentioned Buffalo.
TIA
Also looking for ideas of things to do.

Maybe somebody in Toronto knows about the Minsk shul. I know someone who went to a convention in Toronto and I think got connected with this shul.

Well...which is it? Niagara doesn't generally have a shul, Hamilton has a hotel within walking distance of the local orthodox shul and it really depends where in Toronto you're looking to be.
Those places and buffalo are it, basically.
things to do: The Falls and the attractions there (Maid of the Mist boat ride, journey behind the falls, cave of the winds- us side, the attractions on clifton hill, the butterfly conservatory,
outside of niagara: African Lion Safari, the Royal Ontario Museum, the Bata Shoe Museum, the Ontario Science Centre
what are you looking for exactly?

It's downtown and probably the one shul in the city with decent hotels within walking distance.

I was just trying to give a basic area I an looking to stay. I don't need to be anywhere specifically. Do you know of any specific shul either in Toronto (any area), or Hamilton that has a hotel within walking distance? Please be specific. Thanks

The Minsk is AWESOME!! [This is the shul that changed our lives.]
They get more visitors than other shuls in the city, and are extremely welcoming. The rabbi recognizes newcomers, greets them and insists that they stay for a sit-down kiddush and possibly lunch as well. You'll be introduced to the congregation at kiddush, have a chance to say a couple of words, and will find people who will talk to you.
It's an old, historic shul in Kensington Market - the area used to be predominantly Jewish, and now it's Chinese/Vietnamese/Portuguese/Jamaican/everything. It's walking distance from major hotels downtown, including the Delta Chelsea (I used to live across the street), Sheraton, Metropolitan, Holiday Inn, etc.
For Niagara Falls: check out Chabad of Niagara Falls on the Canadian side.

Niagara Falls has tons of stuff besides the Falls themselves: Maid of the Mist boat, Clifton Hill area, casino, hiking by Niagara Gorge
Toronto: Toronto Islands are nice. The Toronto Zoo is great. Go up the CN Tower. Explore the different neighborhoods. The ROM (Royal Ontario Museum). Ontario Science Centre. Canada's Wonderland (big theme park, not far from Thornhill, which has a very big Jewish community).

There's also the Beth Jacob v'Anshei Drilsk which is about 20 minutes from an OK hotel (the Montecassino). It's much farther uptown than the Minsk.
