I use a Panasonic SD 255 which we got as a wedding gift. Absolutely love it! It's great. Mostly gets used on dough cycle for making lots of challah dough!

As for sifter - no need in this country so can't help you there unfortunately.

Good luck

Why don't you need a sifter?

DH insists we have to have one or the flour won't be Kosher even with certification.

He's Israeli, and I'm American. Are the rules different?

We're in the UK and here there is not an issue with sifting flour - the quality control is very high and therefore it's 'muchzak k'noki', unlike in Israel where the flour is 'muchozak b'tola'im' and needs careful inspection.

In the UK you just need to store the packets carefully and check the top of the packet for mites before each use, unless it's been open longer than 1 month or kept in unfavourable conditions in which case we need to sieve it.

I am in Canada and do not sift flour - store it well wrapped and make sure it is sealed b4 opening.
I have a Black and Decker B2300, it's horizontal, and holds 3 lbs. Has 2 beaters, so it mixes very well. It works well, B"H.
