I think the coffee in the cake made it smell a bit burnt - that roasted coffee bean smell..

It's so delicious and moist and sweet....thanks for the awesome recipe, I'm going to put it in my official recipe book and pass it down through the generations! Smile

AZmom, I baked your honey cake recipe today for the first time. It came out scrumptious. Was great that I didn't have to use my mixer. I just whisked it all by hand and yet it came out very light and fluffy and nice height as well.

The downside of this recipe tho is that it's too good. I ate one slice after the other, until I consumed apr half of the loaf in no time. My husband also helped himself quite generously.... I better have someone hide it from both of us, or else it's a goner before Yom tov chas veshalom, No jokes!!

Will someone pass me the tums please?

What size pan should I use if I want one big and not 2 loaf pans??? want to make this for upsherin honey cake so needs to be one big

would this recipe fit in the wilton book pan? http://www.wilton.com/store/si.....nav=1

That pan looks pretty big, I would double the recipe. I think it will be fine in a 9x13 pan (the reg recipe, not doubled)

I just made a double recipe with ww flour.
it is ADDICTIVE!!!!
the title needs to be changed to "addictive honey cake"
With a double recipe, I made 3 loaf pans and 12 muffins.

just wanted to say thank you! this is the third year that I am making your honey cake for Tishrei, and it is always a great hit! This year I decided to use less oil, so I put in 3/4 cup instead of a full cup, and it came out great!

I just made this a few days ago too! I used coconut oil and doubled the recipe to yield 4 loaf pans: one for this past Shabbos, 3 in the freezer for yom tov (one for us, one for my MIL, and one for my parents). Perfect! Thanks!

Absolutely delicious!
I made a honey cake last week (mother's recipe) but it didn't come out so good. I decided to try this recipe and I'm glad I was brave enough to double it. It's the best honey cake I ever had!
