I never trained my kids at night, they did it on their own.

Back when I had a bed-wetter, I read that if they are still wet at night by age 5 there is only a 10% chance they will be dry in the next year. This information may not be up to date. But I used one of those alarms and followed the instructions carefully. It worked, but my son used to only wet the bed a couple of times a week (at age 7).
Good luck!

Basically, the child has to do it on their own when their body is ready and able, but you have to cut back on drinks before bed.

My kids trained themselves as well. I don't think you should put a pull up on him, just put on underwear and you'll be woken up a few nights in a row to take him to the bathroom, bur after few nights it should be OK.
