What's the best local and long distance phone plans to use?
I'm looking for the best rate, something better than Verizon's (I wish).

I used to use Verizon. My monthly bills amounted to about $70.
Now I am with MCI. My monthly bill amounts to no more than $43. I've been pleased with their service for the past many years. Long distance is not included. For long distance I use a calling card.
And for internet use, well, I use dial-up....

It's crazy how fast phone bills add up. Between our two lines and cell we have an average of $150 a month.... (and I think a third line will be put in within the next couple months  )

If you have DSL, go with VOIP. I love mine, and I pay 19.99 a month for unlimited calling to America & Canada. And best of all, if you travel, you can take your phone line with you (or mine forwards calls to any US telephone line.) I live in Europe but I have a NY telephone number so it's local for people to call me.
It's really in right now, and it's a lot cheaper than using a local company. If you want more info on the company I use, let me know.

I have VOIP also I have vonage, I pay 24.99 for unlimited calling in the us canada P.R and 7 european coutries. Its the best and cheapest way to go if you have high speed internet.

I have packet8 same idea as vonage. I think we pay 25 a month and its unlimited in canada and the US.
