Does anyone know how to clean out an electric hot water pot? Mine is a good few years old (prob. close to 10). I clean it periodically with a water/vinegar solution but now it's really bad.
My yetzer horah is telling me to buy a new one. My bank account is telling me to clean it.

I can't imagine rust to be too healthy ...
that being said try steel wool and some elbow grease along with baking soda ... see what happens ...
oh & whatever you do - control the urge to rob a bank for a new water urn ... not sure if you'd look zexy in stripes

Hey Greeny, nice to see you too!
The water isn't actually rusty btw. It's not tinged at all and doesn't have any pieces in it - it's still clear white. It just has a yucky smell and taste. I'm gonna try your idea and see.
