An article in the August Prevention mag (www.prevention.com/water) warns about fluoridated water. Apparantly fluoride applied to the teeth is benificial but ingesting fluoride in too large of an amount not only spoils the teeth but can cause lower IQ and bone loss. Cities with fluoridated water only have slightly fewer cavities than cities without.

yup. I have spots on my teeth from excessive flouride. I loved water as a kid and drank it by the gallon.
thankfully my town doesn't flouridate the water and I make sure my kids don't eat the toothpaste.

remember also that most of the country has flouridated water so there's flouride in your produce, soda, reconstituted juices, ices, you get the idea.

not only that, but I remember reading some studies that linked excessive flouride ingestion with osteoporosis. nice.

oh, and flouride is also used as rat poison.
