On further thinking, I realized that there really are things that we know for a fact, or at least we are pretty sure we do. Scientific evidence can not be counted as knowing for a fact because even that appears to change with time. But I thought it would be fun to start a thread with people listing what they know for a fact. Of course, if anybody can refute it then that will make it even more fun.
Here goes.
#1: Torah is Emes. Now who can refute that?

Unfair. You have to first PROVE it. Then you can "know for a fact".
So what can you both prove and say "I know for a fact"?

Who here wrote that anecdotal date does not equal facts?
In any event, because of circumstances, I humbly suggest ceasing and desisting this thread.

One of my favorite profs used to say "the plural of 'anecdote' is not 'data.'"

The fact is, it's sunny and briskly windy outside my house today. The fact is, that's good for my laundry. I think there is a fact that dry, windy weather helps cloth dry.

I know for a fact that I'm still tired.
That seems to be an unchangeable truth.
Maybe it's because I've had bronchitis for two weeks already.

And I know for a fact that if you drink hot tea with honey your poor throat will feel soothed for about ten minutes.....and then it might be time for another glass of tea. Mint candies can help too. Refuah sheleimah!
Personally who the heck cares if someone declares something as fact when it isn't? Aren't most people's conversations laced with their so called "truths"? Take the convo for what it is. A woman very pained by an experience who sees a strong correlation between what happened before the tragedy and after. That's it. It's her story, her spin.
Let's all drink a glass of tea to that.

I know for a fact that:
If a sweep dirt into a pile, it doesn't matter where said pile is and there's an entire clean room to walk over, my kids will manage to walk straight into the dirt pile while I'm reaching for the dustpan.
That if I send dh to do grocery shopping there will always be something that he got that he shouldn't have and something I wanted that he didn't get.
If I have some quiet time to get some work done, I will suddenly get spur of the moment invitations to go out or visitors will drop by.
But most of all,
That I love my family BH" and wouldn't trade them for anything.
