custom woodworking is what you want, although furniture refinishing and repair may also be able to do it.

If you usually eat with a tablecloth, something my inlaws did that was smart was go to home depot and order a long rectangular piece of wood, make it big enough for however many chairs you want to fit around your table, and just stick it on top of your regular table and cover it with a table cloth, you can't even tell and gives so much space!

I've been at someone's house who did (place plywood ontop of table) this and I would never have known unless they had said something.

If we had something made, it would need to have groves to fit snugly, but I guess for short term and cheapness, it’s an excellent idea !!!!!!!!!!!!

Yea you can't tell at all.
It is a nice cheap idea, the only fun thing will be tying it to the top of your car getting it home!
I guess you could always spring for delivery!
