890 shekel times 4 kids - 3 weeks of school day camp. A generous number of trips. Kids ages 4-12. (The 4 year olds don't have trips.)

My 20 year old DS will work in a day camp.
My 18 year old DD wants to volunteer in a 10-day special needs sleepaway camp.
My 17 year old DS is in sleepaway camp in the US, and a relative is paying. He is a special case.

$265 for two weeks of day camp for my older son. I still need to find something for the younger two, but last year I paid something like $30/week per child for a backyard daycamp.

ETA: For my 3.5 year old, I'll be paying $120 for two weeks, backyard daycamp from 10-3. The 2.5 year old will be staying home.

300 NIS x 2 kids for kaytanot imahot (plus working 2 days each kid, 4 total). This goes from July 1 - Aug 1 inclusive, including Fridays. There will probably be money returned at the end, depending on how much is spent.

840 NIS for daycamp for Rivka, 7:45 - 1:15 - 3 weeks July 3 - 22.

camp is more expensive than school but the kids need to play and learn.when theya re young they went to camp because I needed a break...but as they got older I couldnt entertain them enough learn with them enough and fill intheir down time enough. Overnight camp gave them what they needed..yes they learned stuff there from other kids but u cant shelter them all the time the learning that goes on in camp is great..the singing and cheering is just what they need after being in school such a long year. I never went to camp as a kid but times are different now. You just cant send your child out with his bike and tell him to come home at dinner time. They cant play alone outside cant go to the park alone even if they are in their tweens u just dont let kids go all day and say have fun...so that is where camp comes in...safe wonderful learning fun. back to the question of cost..daycamp costs us 120 per week per child...overnightcamp cost 2000 for the month but they always have scholarship forms to fill out and u get a cheaper price if you qualify for the gov food program some overnight camps let you pay it out during the yer so it dosent hurt so much.I believe camp is an investment for your childrens future...you onky get the chance once to help them enjoy these years and grow....

$70 per week for 6 weeks daycamp at her regular Morah. Then $60 for another 4 weeks at backyard daycamp (this is for my 3-year-old).

7 weeks of overnight camp for oldest daughter is a little over $8000.

About $400 a week, including transportation, for day camp. Discount available for multiple weeks and multiple kids Younger two.

Local sports camp is $300 per week, for weeks not in day camp or overnight camp.

About 750 NIS (I guess about 200$ US) for full time day camp - four weeks (7:30 to 3:30 lunch not included - we're taking turns to cook a hot lunch). No trips (which is perfectly fine with me) but this does include supplies and a special activity at least once a week (yesterday they had music).

With the going rates as high as they are, I am grateful that I can get away without breaking the bank each summer. Working in camps where we feel comfortable sending our children makes a tremendous difference. While we may not come home with much left on our paychecks, without the staff discounts I don't see how we would be able to do it.

$200 (staff rate) x 3 children for 8 weeks of day camp
$400 (staff rate) for 4 weeks of day camp - teen program
$1400 (scholarship) + fees for 4 weeks of overnight camp
+ tips, canteen money, and some trip fees

Can someone explain to me the trip fee thing? Are the trips optional? Why is the cost of trips not included in the camp tuition?

It's really just a way to charge more, without officially charging more at the base rate. Sad

Wow I was surprised to see that school kaytanot are so expenisve!
In our school (Chinuch Atzmai) it is 330 NIS per kid.
Many many parents do not send to the school since that is beyond their budget and instead choose "backyard" camps run by teenagers usually 9-10th graders which cost between 180-260 NIS for THREE WEEKS!

I have one kid in the school and 2 in backyard so I am paying 735 NIS for 3 weeks of half day camp 9-1:30 for 3 kids.

Although it seems like very little that really is 735 MORE than we have.... but it is important for the kids to go and have fun with their friends in a structured way so we do without other things like some of the other posters wrote....

I don't send to camp as it's out of my price range totally, but prices I saw this summer were:
anywhere from $1000 for younger children to $2500 for those through 6th or 8th grade.

Multiply that times 5 and it's way out of my budget. Oh, and those were the day camp prices.

It would be interesting to see if people put which communities they are a part of, so that we could understand the prices better.

I live in an OOT community and seed DD to a JCC day camp. It would be 250 per week but because I am staff I get 50% off, so for 9 weeks it will be 1125 dollars. This does not include lunch but includes all trips.
