Can a kiddush for a new baby girl be during the week or is it generally on shabbos? Is it usually on the day she is named? Does it have to be a big deal, or can you just bring rugelach and a drink to the shul?

Is it usually on the day she is named? not necessarily. We waited a month or so.

We named DD on a Monday morning, and brought rugelach and schnapps to shul that morning. We also had a kiddush that Shabbos.
