I first made this bread when I read the ingredients of the whole wheat bread I was buying and saw that it wasn't so healthy after all. This recipe is very easy to make and easily doubled.
Based on a recipe in Dining in Again
Ingredients
1 1/2 Cups of whole wheat flour
2 1/2 T. Honey
2 T. oil
1 Tsp. salt
1 T. Yeast
1 cup plus 2 T. very warm water
2 cups whole wheat flour
1. Mix flour, honey, oil, salt and yeast in the bowl of an eletric mixer.
2. Add warm water.
3. Beat on low, scraping bowl constantly for 1 minute.
4. Add remaining flour slowly until the dough is smooth and easy to handle.
5.Cover and let is rise for about 40 minutes until doubled.
6.Punch down.
7. Place dough in loaf pan and let it rise for another 20 minutes.
8. Brush with oil/warm honey. Top with rolled oats if desired
9. Bake at 375 for about 40 minutes

How it this 100% whole wheat if there is white flour in there? Have you tried making it completely whole wheat? how does it come out?

The recipe only uses whole wheat flour, by mistake I wrote flour instead of whole wheat flour. Thanks for pointing it out.
