We are going away for Pesach Iy"H. Just wondering how much cleaning, if any I am required to do? I am in my 1st trimester and am having trouble just getting through the day, so this a big issue for me. For those of you in my situation who have to make Pesach, I'm sending you big hugs!

I asked my rav every year for the past 9 and every year he tells me to clean one room perfectly that I know contained chametz. I always cleaned one of the kids rooms as it was always the easiest and how much chametz was really in it.

I picked the easiest room in the house. But call your RAV

you need someplace to do bedikas chometz, so at least one room has to be clean.

my husband spoke to our Rav this week and he said that if we will be away the whole pesach we should just put away our chumetz so that it's not in plainvieww and that we do not have to clean anything since we will be by our pesach place by Thursday night and we should do the beddika there. We jus have to pay the person we are staying by to rent the room and then it is ours to do beddika in.

Chanie, im so glad to hear that because we do the same thing, and I was wondering why people do a bedikas chametz in their own house when theyre leaving for pesach.
we also "rent" our room and do bedikas chametz there.

Last year I went to my parents and I was told to do that, and this year I was told the same (not at my parents) last year we gave my father $1.

We were once told by a Rav that if you leave before Purim then you don't have to clean the house but if you leave later then you do. Since you never know if you do have to stay at home for Pesach for any last minute reason.

I have a tiny 2 bedroom apt. I do not think even if I was home I'd start cleaning that early.
