I gained about 20 kg since I got married I really want to lose the weight as it affects me very badly. Cant fit into my pretty dresses, back pain etc.
I've started this diet as discussed in another thread already and it requires you to eat starches and protains separately.
If you have any recipes or ideas (preferably with recipes if you can) with either starches + veggies or protains + veggies , please, please share with me! Also if you have any soup recipes with just plain vegetables and spices, or salad recipes with low fat dressings.
I would really appreciate your help, would be a huge mitzva!!!
TIA

healthy vegetable soups are great - if you keep a large pan of it in your fridge and just heat up a cup whenever you want to eat something that will help
I made some on Thursday which we also had for Friday night and I'm going to have some this evening -
pumpkin
courgettes
onions
carrots
no quantities - just chop up a load of them and you can also throw in some white beans to bulk it up
fill the pan with water to just cover and throw in a load of herbs, seasoning and some soya sauce and some soup powder if you want
bring to the boil and simmer for about 20-30 minutes then liquidize

this Shabbat I also made -
cottage pie (with a non-potato topping - used a mixture of cauliflower and pumpkin instead)
goulash (without any carbs)
chicken ball casserole
I made rice and potatoes separately so that everyone else could have those if they wanted them but I just had the meat
you can also make risotto with no proteins just lots of vegetables and this makes a great meal

Start with soup. There isn't much to it, it gives you a full feeling, and takes up time. Time is needed for your sense of fullness to kick in, it takes several minutes or more. Meanwhile, you are full, but you don't know it yet, so you can eat more than you need to feel full.
Eat an apple every day, or any fresh fruit. Dried fruit does not count. Canned fruit does not count.
Drink a glass of water before bed.
Cook your own food as much as possible.
Read labels and calorie books.
Live vigorously; take the stairs, walk more, get off a stop early and walk the rest of the way.
Do your stretches right after a hot shower, right in the shower, as your muscles are loose then.
Cinamon sugarless gum makes you think you ate something.
Take your vitamins.
Want it.

Cottage Pie
500g minced beef
1 cauliflower, cleaned and broken into small florets
1 large piece of pumpkin, peeled and cut into small dice
low calorie cooking spray
1 onion, diced
1 carrot, diced
1 courgette, diced
1 can chopped tomatoes
1 handful frozen peas
salt & freshly ground black pepper
paprika
soya sauce
1 sachet sweetener
handful parsley, finely chopped
2 tblspns tomato puree
1/2 cup chicken or beef stock
Put the cauliflower and pumpkin in a saucepan with chicken or beef stock.
Cook until soft enough to mash then drain and reserve the stock for the meat.
Spray a saucepan with cooking oil and saute the onion, carrot and courgette.
Add the minced meat and brown
Add the salt, pepper, paprika, soya sauce, sweetener and tomato puree and mix well
Add the chopped tomatoes, parsley and stock and bring to the boil.
Put a lid on the pan and simmer for about 15-20 minutes.
For the last 5 minutes remove the lid and boil hard to reduce the liquid.
Pour the meat mixture into a casserole.
Mash the cauliflower and pumpkin with some of the reserved stock and some more chopped parsley.
Top the meat with this mixture covering it all.
Bake in the oven until the topping is browned.
