I don't know how up on books you are. Some ideas:
Second Chances - Yael Mermelstein
Sun Inside Rain - M. Basara
Dual Discovery - Zecharya Hoffman
Morningstar - Meir Uri Gottesman
A Promising Past - Dov Haller
The Stars Will Guide You - Miriam Walfish. For middle school kids but nice reading.
Shortchanged - E. G. Schwartz (Has her Chanuka story come out? I thought she had a book due out soon.)

I'll come up with more soon. What these books all have in common is that they're well-written and nice reads. I'm not up to the minute. I'll probably be at a Jewish library sometime soon, if my memory's jogged I'll let you know.

I second - second chances by Yael Mermelstein.
A great but not new book - Autumn rain by Rachel Schorr
freedom to be by Chaya Davis is a verrry thick book :-)

and any by Nachman Seltzer- great!

Thank you everyone! This time I asked for The Quest, seeing it's a sequel to The Judge, which I have, and I happen to like LL. But I'll keep all your suggestions in mind for next time!

I liked the Quest a lot. To me, character development count a lot more than plot and there's more of that here.

Yes, that's what I like most about Libby Lazewnik. Her characters and dialogues are very real.

Sorry for bumping an old thread..

Just wanted to say I am up to chapter 24 in Quicksand

I'm very disappointed that so much time and pages are spent on drama and the main character fighting with her siblings and people at work.

Libby could really of fleshed out the trip to Milan more

Maybe the magazine that featured the story as a serial does not want to encourage luxury Pesach hotels : )
