How is it that the baby jars of pureed banana stay yellow? How do they do it? Especially when they claim it is only banana? or is it because it is in an airtight container?

What happened to YOUR pureed banana? What color did it turn? (I'm so curious)

it turns brown, leave any banana unpeeled and it will turn brown.

You could've put this in infants 1st timer Wink

And they must put something-else in it. I'm positive!

Yes they do add stuff in, they must do. They should have ingredients anyway.
I rarely bought the baby food, generally made my own. I don't recall the banana one looking so yellow anyway, bananas aren't yellow, only the peel is.

Highly doubt they would add lemon juice Roza, b/c babies wouldn't like it! Bet your bottom dollar they add in yellow food coloring.

And I make only my babies food will not buy the bought stuff!

they would have to say they add colouring into the ingredients then.
lemon juice makes sense, but they don't add a lot, just a tiny amount to a whole load it isn't tasted.

Bananas turn black, too, if you leave them around long enough. Especially mashed bananas.

I make my baby's food because there is no kosher baby food available, not because it's cheaper (it isn't) or better (baby doesn't seem to think so). I find it a real hassle, but you gotta do what you gotta do.

talking about bananas. I hate giving it to my kids. It alway ends up on their clothing and leave brown stains. Banana stains NEVER come out!!!

speaking of bananas, every time I buy bananas my house becomes infested with fruit flys. Even If I buy them and eat them the same day! My kids love bananas, but it takes weeks to get rid of the flys. Anyone else have this problem?

The peels will turn brown in the fridge, but the inside remains fresh.

Atchually I put all my fruits in the fridge. To avoid that problem rydys. Obviously advocadoes or ones that are not yet ripe I will leave out in a brown paper bag.
