Im making a bday party for my 8 year old, and inviting his class to the party. One of the mothers Im somewhat close with, texted me and asked what my son would like for his bday. I feel so weird answering such a question, so I said its totally up to you guys. So then she says, what does he like or do you prefer money? I have no idea what to say to her, I feel so awkword, do I tell her what he likes, or do I keep saying its up to her? Any suggestions?

Gift shopping is hard. She's going to spend some money either way, so why not help her spend it on something you know DS will appreciate? Just try to give suggestions that are within an appropriate price range. Or, if you know there's a more expensive item he'd like to save up for, tell her that he'd appreciate any contribution toward that.
