I actually made one by throwing together my usual cholent ingredients and adding a lot of cumin/curry/turmeric. But I never wrote down the exact ingredients or measurements or whatever random stuff I had thrown in at the time (red lentils or was it barley or brown rice??). One of my guests that Shabbos told me it was the best cholent he's ever had! Well, now, b'H, he's getting married - and I want to write down the recipe for his kallah to give her at the bridal shower. I just don't feel that comfortable winging it and just trying to guess what I used (it was months ago).
Does anyone have a tried and true curry/spicy/Indian Cholent/stew recipe that I can look and can use to give her, or at lease to help jar my memory?
Thanks!

If I were you, I would do one of two things:
1) Ask the guy what he liked about it - maybe he will remember better than you what was in it. You don't have to tell him why you are asking or you can just say that you want to try to make it again.
2) Make it again yourself and try to remember what you put in it. Measure everything you use and write it down.

Definitely make it again. Taste the water/broth of the cholent as you add your measured spices, and once it's perfect, write down the measurements.
