The city lights reflect on clouds above
My quiet suburb garden in the night
I once was in that glow, partaking of
Adventures offered freely in the light
But now my Motzei Shabbos silent stays
A precious infant finally goes to sleep
The peace is valued though I long for days
When more came from Havdalah than this deep
Abiding thought that I must halt my life
And all that’s left belongs to my sweet son
At long last I’m a mother and a wife
But still the carefree girl I was is gone
If I could change my life, I’d stay the same
But lights in clouds above still call my name.

Oh so good.
The ending is Shakespearean.

I was trying to make the whole thing a Shakespearean sonnet, but my grasp of iambic pentameter isn't amazing.
