there is a way to buy a house without putting down a down payment, you have to ask a mortgage broker how.

to those who commented on living next to "mommy or totty" - and what is so wrong with that?

With, if you put nothing down and buy a home in the prime of BP, 3K would not be enough for a monthly mortgage.

To say nothing of heat, taxes, etc.

Question Isn't it time that half of B.P. should pick up and move to a more affordable and less crowded place Question

They did - I think it's call Monroe. Wherever they go it would be crowded.

Monroe is for Ultra-Chassidic Satmars only.

Did they start Chassidishe schools in America, or were they always around from "Sheishes Yemei Breishis"?

Yes Telshe Yeshiva has all the out of towners and all the in towners leave town - do not ask me why - I was just pointing out however, that if a Lubavitcher Chosid feels it is important to go to Lub yeshiva they do - same as other chasidishe families here in Cleveland

While we're on the subject of apartment searches, my parents are looking for a 2 or 3BR apartment in mid-BP (say, 15-18 Avenues and 48-52 Streets) and would like to pay around $1200. It needs to be a ground floor apartment. Anyone know of anything available? How likely is it that they'll find anything in the next two years? LOL
