We're moving from Brooklyn to Chicago next week, and have run out of packing boxes.
Anybody have cardboard moving boxes of any size that we could have, or packing material like styrofoam peanuts, bubble wrap, etc.?
We've been checking craigslist, but everything gets taken within hours or even minutes of posting -- no hatzlacha so far.

Try asking a local bookstore. When I left Brooklyn there was one on 17th Avenue (Berman maybe? does that sound right?) that was thrilled to give me extra boxes they didn't need anymore, all folded and easy to take, in great shape and sturdy because they're meant to hold heavy books. They had all different sizes, too.

Liquor stores are great for this, although some popular stores limit the number of boxes you can take. Beer cases are good for books as they are not too large (so the boxes will not be too heavy to lift).
Do you know anyone who works in healthcare or any sort of office with frequent deliveries? Workers can usually take boxes home with no problem.
Be wary of boxes from foodservice facilities. They may not be clean enough.

I found movingdayboxes.com to be the cheapest, and they have free same or next day delivery. Good luck!
