Can anyone suggest a good stuttering specialist in the Brooklyn area? I've tried so many therapies to no avail, his friends lose patience with him and it breaks my heart to see him trying so hard to talk. I don't know what to do next...

You should contact Schneider Speech Pathology. They are considered excellent at treating stuttering in children.
http://www.schneiderspeech.com/

They have a few offices. None in Brooklyn but it's definitely worth the trip to manhattan or queens.

Here is the contact page with the office locations: http://www.schneiderspeech.com/contact/

Good luck and I hope it gets better!

What kind of friends do you have that lose patience with your son?? Your poor baby! I hope He gets the help he needs. Kudos to you for looking. You sound like a caring mommy...your friends...not so much

Thank u for the recommendation, but I tried Phil Schneider for a year and a half, and treatment was unsuccessful. I believe there may be the right therapist out there, and I'm searching, but the problem is that my son doesn't seem to be bothered, he's not mature enough to realize that if he doesn't try and do the homework, he will not speak normally. Im sure that eventually the realization will come to him, even now his friends( as boys will do) are making fun of him, but until he decides to try on his own, I cannot help him, so I'm not sure what to do: continue to drag him to new therapies, or wait until he asks for help? Any therapist I speak to tells me, I'm sure I can help, let's try for a year, but maybe I'm wasting my time and my son's, I just don't know....I've tried for four years, is that proper hishtadlus, and should I leave it in Hashem's hands now?
