My stomach doesnt really tolerate milchigs and definitely not first thing in the morning.
I've been having a hard time finding parve things to eat for breakfast.
It needs to be something easy, since I have little kids and need to get the day running without spending ages on my breakfast and healthy.
It most probably needs to be something made with basic ingredients since I dont live in a kosher haven.

Please help, a banana in the morning only gets me so far.

Yes, but I'm not the biggest fan.
I also prefer not to eat bread in the morning, since I usually eat sandwiches for lunch and I still somehow have to try and lose some weight.

They make soy yogurts, a bunch of non frum companies make with a hashgacha so you should be able to find them in a regular grocery store. I've never tried them, but if you cant eat dairy its something you could consider.

whole wheat zucchini or banana nut muffins, you can add flax meal to boost the nutritional content- can be made once a week and frozen. Fruit smoothies made with almond milk or whole almonds, there is a great recipe for one with bananas and dates.

banana (or coffee, or blueberry, or corn, or chocolate) muffins are really filling with a cup of juice or tea.

omelette if you have some more time.

Rolls and dips (really easy to eat whilst packing lunches!)

fruit salad

israeli salad with bread/pitta bread if you want to wash

some dry cereals are actually better dry (like kariot, mini weetabix)

I find I need a good breakfast to get me through the day and I also don't tolerate dairy well.

I usually eat either 2 slices of Ezekiel bread with hummus and tahini and cucumbers, plus a cut up apple, or I make a salad with 2 cucumbers, 1 tomato and 1 avocado (sometimes half a pepper and then I only use one cuke). But this takes a while to eat so I can only do it when I have time.

Thanks for all the ideas.

Mrs Bissli, or anyone else, do you know if one can just buy things like rice/almond milk? I've only come across soy milk on our list and I've been wondering about the rest.

This is one of my biggest pet peeves, they dont sell quick cooking oats here. I usually bring some with from Israel, extremely annoying.

Baked oatmeal? Here's a recipe that works well with oats that are not the quick cooking type, does take some time to prepare but not so long to eat and tastes delicious. It's versatile and you can tweak it to use ingredients you can get hold of. I usually double this recipe and it disappears very fast. You might find this easier than standing over a pot of steel cut oats and stirring.

2.5 cups oats
1.75 cups liquid (Can be milk for dairy eaters. I have used coconut milk or a water with 2 tsps almond butter per cup water - effectively like using almond milk)
2 eggs
half cup date syrup/brown sugar/other sweetener - or experiment with less
half cup craisins or other dried fruit
0.5 tsp baking powder
0.5 tsp vanilla sugar
0.5 tsp cinnamon

Pour it into a cake tin or muffin tin or ovenproof dish of some kind and bake until it seems cooked. Best eaten while still hot or warm. Can cut into squares and freeze and reheat and/or grab for the road.
