does anyone know of a dressing for a salad with lettuce , purple cabagge, shreded carrots and baby tomatoes??? ( it has to be with natural ingridients- we have very little kosher stuff down here! ; )

thanks a lot!!

also, I would leave out the carrots and add craisins and croutons - more "dressy"

I thought you were in brooklyn - yeah that was confusing to me too - honey sounds better than sugar or try brown sugar

do you have sunflower seed or mandarin orange slices - that could dress it up

croutons are super easy to make as said by greenfire.
it's good if its old bread (can use frozen bread) and you mix up the oil garlic salt pepper in a jar (u need about 1/4 cup oil for 1 loaf of bread. mix it all up in a bowl until the croutons are pretty coated.
if they look soggy with oil - don't worry they'll come out great...

tada!

1/4 c vinegar
1/2 c oil
1/2 c sugar
1 tsp salt
mix on a low flame until all ingredients dissolve.
this is great on a fresh salad with fruit or as a marinade for pepper salad.

I live in argentina and cant get craisins or croutons either:(

something I add to salad is "pita chips". take some pitas, open them up and brush on some olive oil. sprinkle with salt, pepper, garlic powder (I guess u can add onion powder too) toast both sides until crunchy.

btw I just visited ny and came back with a big costco bag of craisins:) should last me a while.
