How much money do you use for kaporos? Do you use 18 cents or 18 dollars for chai or a different amount?

I use what my father used, $1.80. I use double that for over bar/bas mitzva.

$10. I learned the money should be equivalent to the cost of a chicken which is around $7 so I round up.

Just whatever few dollars I have in my wallet. The money is symbolic, we give plenty of tzedakah this time of year, so its just a symbolic gesture.

They have a set charge by us...we spent 30 dollars for two chickens. Expensive I know!
