I often need to serve a hurry-up dinner, but it looks like my family doesn't much care for the ears of frozen corn that I get at the grocery store............so, my question is - what (other) vegetable do you all serve with hamburgers or hotdogs?

Thanks.

I make mashed sweet potato and freeze it. it freezes well and reheats nicely in the microwave.
I fry onions, boil sweet potato, mash sweet potato, add onions, soy milk, salt and pepper I freeze them once they are cooled in freezer ziplocs.
to defrost I bring them to room temp and microwave.

also, try frozen corn, peas once defrosted mix add sliced olives and dress with plain mayo its a good side too.
dh loves it with bbq dinner

I buy the frozen french fries and bake them.

Not frozen, but you can cut up sweet potato into thin strips, lightly toss with oil and spices, and bake like fries.

Do you serve a tray of cut up lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and pickles to put on the burgers?

really good-sautee onions and cut zuchini add a little salt. can throw in mushrooms.(I usually finish this straight from the pot...)

I keep frozen veggies in the freezer, and defrost one a night and just steam in a little water with some salt added in. the key is not to overcook or it will get mushy. don't cover the pot.

, califlower has become quite popular.

also really good-snap peas. toss with onions, crushed garlic, salt and olive oil and throw in oven while you cook e/t else.-yum!

I usually use frozen peas to make a quick pea soup.

We like large, whole frozen green beans. I put them in a pot, sprinkle with garlic salt, and cook them covered until they're the way I like them. Then I sprinkle them with sesame seeds.

I also make something similar with Bird's Eye sugar snap pea and mushroom mix.
