The rabbi told a story about the grand daddy of all brochos, the Asher Yotzor, and how if the body had even a slight blockage how it couldn't function properly. (As we know from the davening)...

And that how, in his earlier years, he rode a motorcycle. The wheel of the motorcycle is held on by a large bobby pin of an object, called a cotter pin. He was always amazed, as he zoomed around, how his life was held by such a small object!

So too is the Asher yotzor. Those with allerige sor sensitivities will attest to the fact that their lives are not easy. and that these frailities make it harder to go about their daily lives.

How we have to appreciate even the little things! Like bobby pin and a well- functioning body! How we can't get up, oh another day; but OH! ANOTHER DAY !!!!!!!!!!!!

I read the translation to asher Yatzar on a poster in DD's school and it made me stop and think, we really have to be grateful that everything works.

We all need to stop and think sometimes about what a gift "normal" things are:
- a healthy body (even if its not svelte)
- a warm home (even if its not big or well decorated)
- a closet full of clothes (even if not new or totall fashionable)
- warm jammies and blankets for kids (even if hand me downs)
- a fridge and cabinets full of food (even if you can only afford to eat noodles and tuna fish during the week)

All these "everyday" things are blessings from Hashem. Remember to count them every day and thank Hashem for all you've got.

I was thankful to Hashem that my kids all sat at shabbos table together for both fri and shab lunch - didn't expect it for lunch and it felf miraculous to me.
