I think it's such a fabulous idea - for $5, a mosad will pack and deliver a mishloach manos! True, it's not the most fabulous nosh, but for ppl you need to send something and can't walk over there; I LOVE IT!

Alot of schools do that - it helps raise money. Whoever wants to send to person pays $5. then depending on how many givers person will receive shaloc manos of a few varying sizes.

Just don't forget, from what I've learned, you have not actually fulfilled the mitzvah when you do it that way so make sure to do at least the bear minimum requirement yourself.
