that's sweet of you to offer chocolate, however I'm looking more for tried and true recipes.

How is a smoothie machine different than a blender?

I bought a blender for $13, and I’m keeping it dairy, exclusively. Every day (when I’m really inspired to diet) I dump in plain yogurt, a bit of milk. Then I put in a splenda packet and a banana and an orange. Apples work too. I hate berries, but basically you can dump in whatever you want. If you like ice cold, you should put in an ice cube. I like mine fridge-temperature.

This concoction keeps me going until 3pm.

My favorite summer drink (or meal, cause it REALLY fills you up):

1 small container of yogurt (plain or whatever flavor you like)
handful of frozen strawberries
1 frozen banana
splash of OJ

Blend all together and add OJ to get to desired consistency. Also, if you like it sweeter, add some honey or a spoonful of jelly.

In the summer I drink this ALL the time, so I always keep a bunch of frozen strawberries and bananas ready in my freezer.

I really like just one fruit with ice, sometimes 1 fruit with 1 type of berries and ice, nothing more complicated than that.

Our blender's pareve, so we made up our own fruit shakes without the milk ingrediants:
A mix of frozen fruits: pineapple, mango, strawberries, blueberries, bananas, depending on your taste
Ice cubes
OJ, pomegranite juice, grape juice or any liquid to get the shake to a good consistency (to be able to drink with a straw).
And of course, on a good night, a little vodka Wink

OP: Did your Smoothie Machine come with a recipe booklet (they usually do)? If you find anything interesting not listed here, please share Smile

bananas
yogurt
chocolate or coffee
fruit like strawberries

If you like it icy just add ice - it's easier than freezing the fruit. Also I tend to use the outdated yogurt that my kids won't touch - it is always fine it doesn't rot like cheese.

I add wheatgrass powder, soy lecithin and a small amount of ground flaxseeds to my smoothies. They add loads of nutrition and its so energizing... Very Happy
