I read an article on chinuch which refers to Chovos Ha'Levavos for children. Was it that? Who published it?

I believe what you are reffering to is the Middos Series. The first book is called The Incredible Voyage to Good Middos, the second The Lost Treasure of Tikun Hamiddos Island and the third-fourth (one book) The Terrifying Trap of the Bad Middos Pirates. I believe it is published by Feldheim. I have learned the first two with my younger brohter (14 year gap). I think it's great for kids, but you have to get them at the right stage where they can internalize without thinking it's a kiddie book.

those books are based on Orchos Tzadikim
maybe that's what the person (in the article) meant and he said the wrong sefer?
