Here's the sitch.
dh and I both came from well off homes and now that we're on our own, I see we're both very much products of our youth. we don't buy expensive things or live in a fancy place, and I'm not a big clothes/items shopper, so it's not like we're frivilous spenders-- but we're definitely not as good at budgeting as, say, a couple who both of them grew up having to budget and account for every penny, etc. our parents help us out but won't forever. I'm really scared b/c I feel unequipped to "go it alone." Sometimes I just feel so...... spoiled! ("Aw, what the heck, it doesn't matter, I need it/he needs it/we deserve it, just this once, we can scrimp next week...")
Does anyone know of any books/online sites/other resources I can use that help teach the basics (plus more) of things like household budgeting, tips on saving, etc.?
If anyone has suggestions, I'm all ears.

I think there is a cheapskate book you can get at the library. (Called The Tightwad Gazette.)

A very good one is Bonnie's Household Budget Book. There are plenty of computerized programs also that will track your budgeting. Good luck!

I suggest Dave Ramsey's The Total Money Makeover.
