In the past I've always baked with white flour, but now I am starting to add whole wheat to my challah, and other baked goods. For those of you who sift their flour before using: How do you sift the w.w. flour? all it does is separate the white and brown flours Question

I dont think there is really a way to do it and that why I basically dont use it. The only way is first to sift and then manually check through the brown part.
I always wonder, these companies that claim that they sift the flour, what do they do with whole wheat?

I use whole wheat flour regularly and sift it without any problems.

Really, Kmelion?! What type of sifter (or what type of flour) do you use? I used Hecker's w.w. and it didn't go through a standard sifter.

Maybe in Israel the ww flour is more finely grinded.
The ww flour that we get here, if you use a sifter with holes that are big enough for the brown part to get through, then they're big enough for the bugs to get through too!

I live in israel. I use the standard Israeli sifter and the Sugat brand of whole wheat flour.

I've recently had the same question, and two bags of ww flour are sitting in my cabinet awaiting the answer. Very Happy
