Many times new computers will come with internet explorer pre-set to open to yahoo.com or msn.com and although you think it’s enjoyable to see the news every time, Internet Explorer is supposed to open up blank! You should have the freedom to go wherever you want, not because they stick it in your nose! No wonder msn.com gets so many ‘hits’ every day, they’re soliciting it!
Start with a blank home page and there's no need to wait for a slow-loading home page when you start Internet Explorer especially for those with slow dial-up 56-kbps modem connections.
Click Tools, Internet Options, and in the General tab (selected by default), click the Use Blank button. Click OK to close the Internet Options dialog box.

You can also choose a home page you want to see immediately, if you have one. I have a set homepage.
