I don't know who Goldie Gilad is, but I can tell you that the proven way to help people with dyslexia is intensive work on phonemic awareness (I.e. learning to perceive and manipulate the individual sounds in speech) combined with training in the letters and letter combos that represent sounds. All done in a hands-on, multisensory way. Look for someone who's trained in Orton-Gillingham. BUT, there are a lot of people who just took a short O-G course and aren't very good. Look for someone who's a Fellow in the Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners and Educators. If you can't find one near you, then look for someone who's certified through the same organization (certification is a lower level than Fellow). http://www.ortonacademy.org/instructor.php
