My great grandmother was Lily. Hebrew name, Leah

My MIL is Leah
My sister is Liat
DH and I both do not like Shoshana since where we live, EVERY couple seems to name their baby Shoshana..
any suggestions?

This would also be a middle name...

Are you looking for a Hebrew name that begins with a lamud or one that has a flower meaning?

I think lily and leah are both beautiful names

I think you should either name her lea as her official name (which would obviously be her hebrew name) or lily, with lea as her hebrew name

I know many females called lily. I guess Lea is their hebrew name. My mother's best friend is called lily and she is lovely

DD#1 is named for my grandmother, Lilly-Leah in Hebrew. DH, however, did not like the name Leah so in order to do something comparable but still recalling my grandmother's name, DH came up with Liora. The name Leah is contained with in it and we both liked the name so Liora she became.

The name "Li-yah" - lamed, yud, heh (Anglicized spelling is up to the parent: Lia, Leiah, Liya, etc.) - sounds like the English pronunciation of Leah - can be an option if you don't want to give the name Leah because your MIL has the name already...

Also, Lee (lamed, yud = "my" or "mine") has been around as a girl's name here in Israel for years. There's an English name, Leigh, for girls. This can be a compromise between Leah and Lily. Tongue Out
