Im the OP of the 'body image' thread
I will have to go to Manhattan to shop and need your help.
Where can I go to? Is Macy's best? are there shops near Macy's?
Are there other stores near each other where I can shop?

Macy's should have a woman's department. There should also be a Lane Bryant store on 34th St.

Lord and Taylor
Some of the big department stores have free personal shoppers (by appointment). It's great! You get your own dressing room, and they bring the clothes to you. If you want to try a different size, they bring it to you. If you need a shell to see how something would look, they bring it to you. See a pattern here?

shopping for nice things is definitely the way to go - build up your self-image & it will help you feel good ...
I 2nd macy's and lane bryant - look on their sales racks & have FUN !!!

Macys
Lord & Taylor
JCPenney
Bloomindales
Alas, Saks Fifth Avenue closed their plus size department.
Nordstrom- there is no Nordstroms in Manhattan, there are many in nearby New Jersey and Long Island. I don't think the Nordstrom Rack in Manhattan carries plus sizes.
I mostly shop department stores but you might find things at:
coldwater creek
talbots- one of the locations has outlet stuff, I don't know which though

I just did very well at Burlington. There are a few locations in Manhattan.
