I'm looking to have my 9 yr old DS evaluated by an independent education evaluator preferably in the 5ts or 2nd choice is Brooklyn. What I mean by independent is someone who will evaluate him/ his learning/ reading/ functioning and make recommendations but doesn't actually offer the services recommended. DS is struggling with English and Hebrew reading despite 3 yrs of private tutoring and resource room intervention. I feel like someone needs to get to the cause of the problem. But I don't trust someone who stands to benefit from their own evaluation. I already paid for vision therapy that I don't think he really needed. Any recommendations/ ideas.
