The book is about Jewish communities and their Jewish memories. Good coffee table reading!

about Jewish communities? was that a typo?

it's interviews with famous Jewish people (a few are actually NOT Jewish)

I read it this winter.

It sad. So, so many of them are married to non-Jews and have non-Jewish children.

Is her mother Letty Cottin Pogrebin by any chance who is one of the "classic" feminists of the '70's?

The book looks depressing. She pretty much interviews famous people and look nobody in the book is shomer Torah and Mitzvos. I wonder if frum yidden are even on her radar.

some of it is sad, intermarriage etc. But overall, I really liked some of the interviews. No it is not about communities, more like the actor, or director, or producers memories growing up etc.
Interestingly, Dr. Laura was interviewed, but by the time the book came out she re-converted back to being a [gentile]!

This book is about Comediennes . She also wrote one about rock stars.

It doesn't appear to be just about comediennes which would mean all the people are comedians and female, unless this is a different book. Unless people such as William Kristol, Gloria Steinem, Kenneth Cole, Barney Frank (is Joe Leiberman there btw?) are comediennes Smile

I don't see any other books by this author btw. Are you sure you're talking about the same book?
