I love the Streits crumb cake!

It comes in a box with a tin to bake in and the mix to which you add oil, water and eggs. I buy like 15 of them Pesach and make them all year round, it's ready in an instant and it's delicious! I sometimes add a spoonful of mayo or applesauce to make it moister.

If you live in BP and want to have some pretty good pesachdige cake try OH Nuts. They have a huge assortment of Hagada cakes; they're so not pesachdig-tasting. I bought some of the strawberry cake and some seven-layer; they were really good!

They ship, NY21. Good thread by the way!

I get DH, every year, the rainbow cookies (any brand) and he loves them. The kids each get a box of mixed cookies, any brand.

I stopped buying that stuff for mysef but I used to love the 7-layer cake, choc roll, jelly cake, etc. Now I make cake mixes - brownies and crumbcake or coffeecake, I forget what it's called.

I buy pareve chocolates - Barton's plain bars are the best but hard to find.

Now that I think about it, I stopped buying macaroons, too....the kids never much went for ladyfingers either.

We prefer a good quality coffee - who doesn't? An instant is okay, it doesn't have to be brewed to be really good.

We buy yogurts and lebens too - sour cream is good with bananas, but hey, full-fat anything is deliciosu right?

I get Ungar's mayo and it's fine......Lieber's ketchup . . . apple and orange juice, potato chips, whatever kind there is.

I find it interesting - I grew up in london and almost without exception the lubavitch families there use very little manufactured stuff. wine grape juice matza, maybe milk for kids, sugar and salt, everything else is homemade. When I went to ch one year for pesach, it was quite a culture shock!

My parents even crack the nuts and grind them. (but I buy ready ground)

I made some homemade nut cookies and cake - I don't use potato starch, so it is just eggs, nuts and sugar in different variations. They are pretty easy if you use ground nuts.

it's a mix. I know a family that doesn't use anything pre-processed aside from wine, matzah and coarse salt. we use more processed things but not that much. oberlanders are a pre Pesach thing for us.

I have some fond memories of Oberlander's Jelly roll and seven layer cake...I got a jelly roll for ds's bday this year....also the lady fingers.
I second that the rainbow cookies are usually decent.

This year is the first year that I'll be able to buy all the processed stuff I want! I'm very excited about using all my exciting processed products: shake and bake chicken coating, some type of nut cereal, salad dressing, instant garlic mashed potatoes, and salad in a BAG.

I looked at some of the junk food, but it's not worth it. I'll just snack on what I normally do during the year - mandarin oranges, string cheese, and plums.

Thankfully, I grew up in a family that used oil and potato starch. I would've been extremely bitter if we didn't use that as well.
