I still have figure out how much wine I need. My mum is coming the first night. My in-laws are coming the second night. So three guests total + DH and I.

Anyone know a good way to estimate amount per person/ per bottle?

Thanx!

okay - this is my theory ... sit down ... drink 4 cups of wine ... now multiply that by two ... Drunken Smile Drunken Smile see how much you've drunk ... then hic cup ... multiply that by how many peops will be at seder(s) ... Drunken Smile Drunken Smile Drunken Smile Drunken Smile hic cup ... hic cough ... Compress and add some extra for later ... okay if you are still thinking straight ... leave the keys at home and buy some more ... What I can add

Very simple. How much wine do you hold you have to drink/ have in your cups?
For example ours are 120cc*4*number of people.
Of course chutznikim have to double that number.

Also allow for people drinking during meal. And some people have grape juice.

We are allowing half a bottle per person. But we ended up getting smaller cups so I doubt that much will be used. But it saves buying wine during the year.

Don't forget to check with your rav what's the minimum considered a r'viis. If the cups are too small and/or people don't drink most of it you aren't fulfilling the mitzva.

As I said, a bottle each person, each Seder. You need more for Kiddush by day, including Shabbos and the end days, plus more if you drink it Chol Hamoed (I"ve heard it's an inyan to drink wine during Chal Hamoed).

We get a mixed case and then we have plenty.

Are you buying grape juice, too?

Seudas Moshiach is four sips, not cups. You have to leave someting for havdaleh, too!

The wine glasses I bought from IKEA is 6 oz. So I think they are big enough. My LOR follows OU standards: the minimum volume for a cup is 3 oz. and they have to drink @ least 2/3 to fufill the mitzvah. I was wondering because the wine bottles measure the volume in metric. I'm such a yankee, I got confuzzled. This is only the second time I made pesach and last year I bought way too much. Drunken Smile

to chocolatemoose: Yes, I'm buying grape juice for DS and my MIL because she's a teetotaler and she has a drain in her stomach from recent surgery.

At Seudas Moshiach at the Dorms, Rabbi Majeski said each girl should make four lechaims, not drink arbah cosos.
