My sister and her family are traveling after Shavuos and will be in England overnight. Does anyone know of a taxi/van driver who can take 2 adults+4 children (3+baby) in his car, and how much he charges from the airport to Golders Green (and back the next morning)? or of a motel or cheap hotel in the airport vicinity?

You can take the tube from the airport - thats what we always do because it goes straight to stamford hill, but you may have to change for GG.
But gg is much closer to Heathrow.

Questions about tube:
a - is there one running on Motzei Yom Tov (10:15 pm)?
b - are you sure there's one from Heathrow to GG?

There is no direct tube ride from the airport to GG - it would necessitate a change. I understand 10:15 to be the time of arrival. Bearing in mind that it takes time to come out of the a.port (passports, luggage) it would not be advisable to make an underground trip that time of the night.

Find out how much they charge. As for hotels in the area - I am sure there is a Holiday Inn or that type - do a search on-line and check out the rates.

Thanks mima for all the info.
10:15 is actually not their arrival time. It's the time Yom Tov is over in England. They will be leaving on Thursday, Isru Chag in Israel - Yom Tov abroad, and arriving in England before the Zman. According to their Rav's Psak, they could do that on condition that they do not leave the airport before the Zman.
Right now they'd rather find a cheap hotel or motel in the airport vicinity, because it looks like the travel time and expenses won't be worth the bother.
