HELP. Having lots of company for Shvuos and am sick of all my recipes. Anybody have any good ideas for a dairy main course?
I usually make Lasagna, baked ziti, fried flounder, sweet/sour salmon..

Pastry:
2 cups flour
125g butter
1 egg yolk
pinch of salt
2 tblspns cold water
Put all ingredients (except water) into a bowl and knead well. Add water and knead until the dough is smooth.
Cover the dough and put in fridge for half an hour.
Filling:
3 cups fresh mushrooms (I use tinned)
a little olive oil
1 tub cottage cheese (250g)
1/4 cup grated yellow cheese
1/4 cup grated Bulgarit cheese (I just double the hard cheese instead)
1/4 cup whipping cream (shamenet metuka)
2 eggs
2 tblspns breadcrumbs
1/2 tspn salt
1/4 tspn grated muscat
Chop the mushrooms and fry for 2-3 minutes in the olive oil until brown. Drain the mushrooms and put in a bowl. Add all the other ingredients and mix well.
Roll out the dough. Put in a pie dish and bake for 15 minutes, after pricking it all over. Cool. Pour the filling in. Bake for another 20 minutes until firm and browned.

The ingredients are Israeli, so I hope you can adapt them for England.
You can substitute other veggies - eg onion, corn, tomatoes, zucchini.

It's a spice. It's called egoz muscat in Hebrew. You could just leave it out.
