This has been a fun read! Thanks for linking...

Rowling was pretty careful to stay neutral on religion in the HP books. I've never been interested in fan fiction before, but I'm glad I read this. I love the way this storyline closely follows the one we know and love, while bringing creative yet plausible elements into the HP universe.

When reading the HP series (and really any fantasy book) there's a willing suspension of disbelief, and we accept a strange alternate reality as we learn about it through Harry's eyes and experiences.

Guiding the reader to see this new world through the lens of yiddishkeit and halacha adds a second layer of disbelief and reorientation to adjust to... I've imagined myself at Hogwarts, but I never thought about it in such, er, practical terms...

THIS IS AMAZING!!!!!! I keep wanting to write frum fanfiction for all the Jewish characters I grew up with before I was frum. I'm so glad it exists! I really really hope it is updated soon!

Why did someone refer to Anthony Goldstein as the last Jew in Hogwarts? Maybe he was the first... or at least the first we are priveleged to know about. Wink

I wonder if Yehuda will find an ancient diary of the real first Jew at Hogwarts or something. Ahh... the possibilities...
