My daughter, who is almost 4, sometimes says things like, "Let's ask Hashem for X." I say, "OK, ask Him." She says, "No, Mommy, you ask," with a shy expression on her face, like when an adult she doesn't know well tries to speak to her. So I say whatever she wants me to say out loud, and she seems happy, but doesn't say anything herself. What should I do to encourage her to talk to Hashem?

the situation and question make me smile
hmmm
What if you ask, and then say to your daughter - now you ask?
and you can add that the tefillos of children are especially precious to Hashem

Yehudis then keep doing it and don't pressure her and one day she'll do it on her own

Sometimes I feel too shy also. I ask my daughter to ask with me like we're both asking, of course, she doesn't talk yet. But, I know how she feels. I didn't think I believed in Hashem when I was younger and I used to sort of talk to my grandparents who had passed away (post-imainary friend.)
