As a graphic designer and professional editor, I would like to add one thing to the discussion above (which has lots of great advice and useful information). PLEASE, if you are a designer who is NOT proficient at spelling, grammar, capitalization, and punctuation, do have an editor proofread all of your work before finalizing it and sending it off to print.

One of my big pet peeves is seeing gorgeously designed documents that are filled with mistakes. It really detracts from the professionalism of the work.

Obviously people don't always take the same care with posts to a message board as they would with a professional project, but looking at pretty much all of the messages posted above, I see plenty of spelling and other errors. I'm sure you are all wonderful designers -- probably better than me -- but please make sure that your text is as beautiful as your art.

I believe anyone who can draw can't spell Very Happy diff. sides of the brain LOL
