Hi! We are pG due to have a baby girl in a few months. We are planning to make Aliyah soon after so want to make sure the name we choose fits well in a dati leumi community in Israel and isn't dated. So far, we like Meital - thoughts please! Also, would love to hear other suggestions. Thanks!

Meital is beautiful. You can also use Maayan
The most comman names in Israel for 2014 were: Tamar, Noa, Shira, Leaane, Miriam , Maya, Talya , yael and Avigayil.

I don't know how much it matters to you but Meital, though a lovely name, is a bit dated. It was extremely popular about 15-20 years ago.
As you can see from the list that shevi 82 posted, the water theme is still a very popular one in girls names. I know tons of Maya and Talya's - they've become a bit ubiquitous...
If you like the Tal part of the name you can also consider: Revital, Lital, Amital, Ortal (and Tal-or) as well as Avital and Chamutal which are tanachic.
Of course there's always Tal. I know a little baby girl named Tal Bracha, which I think is a very nice combo.
