My friend is planning a big kiddush and lunch on her daughters bo' bayom which is Tisha B"av which falls out on Shabbos.
Even though there is really nothing wrong halachakly I feel uncomfortable going.
I know she will feel bad but do I tell her now or wait till it gets closer and tell her then.
I am just curious if everyone feels the way I do.
Also would you feel differently if it was a Bar Mitzvah.

I assume she asked her rav? I'm pretty sure that Shabbat does not lose its status, regardless of what the calendar date is.

The 9th day of Av is actually on Shabbos this year, but the fast is pushed off until the following day.

Tisha B'av is really on shabbos this year.

I am close to my friend but dont really feel very comfortable talking about this topic because we are different levels of yiddishkeit .
