I make a dressing with low fat mayo, splenda, vinegar, dill and garlic powder.
You can also dress your salad with lemon juice, salt and pepper.

I do olive oil (which is the best oil for you to have, since you still need some fat), lemon juice, salt and pepper

Oh right, I forgot to include olive oil in my recipe! I love the flavor that olive oil gives dressing.
Some olive oils DO have a strange taste/odor. It really depends what you buy.
I also make a dressing with olive oil, vinegar, garlic cloves, and splenda and put it in the food processor.

well extra virgin olive oil taste a lot more like olives ... if you don't like olives you might want to go for a mild olive oil ...

I usually buy a light olive oil. Not the one that tastes like motor oil!

My fave lowfat ceasar dressing
Lite mayo
equal part water
chicken soup consume
lemon juice
fresh garlic or garlic powder
-adjust quantities to taste.
Usually, when I am down to the bottom of the mayo jar, I put the ingredients straight in the jar and mix with immersion blender.

sometimes I put balsamic vinegar together with the olive oil and lemon juice dressing.
and btw, I happen to love the taste of extra vergin olive oil. the darker and heavier it is the better tasting it is (for salad only, not for cooking)

I make fat free salad dressing by mixing equal parts lemon juice and water, salt and pepper, and sometimes garlic powder...
No need to add oil at all!!

I think the yummiest dressing is lemon juice, salt, pepper, garlic powder and zatar. I usually include olive oil but you could skip it. DH like balsamic vinegar and hates lemon so for shabbos usually just use the spices and a drizzle of olive oil to compromise.

seasoned rice vinegar with a bit of salt is delicious.
a good basic one is lemon juice, olive oil, salt, pepper and garlic powder.
