Open mouth.

Tilt head back at 45deg angle.

Pour.

Close mouth.

Chew.

Swallow.

(Doesnt get much simpler than that Wink )

lol, technic!

I never knew choc. chips expire. then again, I keep them in the freezer anyway. esp. in this weather!

you can substitute white choc chips and craisins in choc. chip cookies. or put them in brownies.

or mix them in with supper so your son will eat his veggies?

Put them in the freezer until you want to use them.

do you think if they're in the freezer it doesn't matter that they're expired? cuz I bought them when I was going thru a baking stage. which prob won't happen again.

You can melt the chocolate chips in the microwave and dip strawberries in the melted chocolate and then refrigerate them.

If they've been in the freezer the whole time, I def. wouldn't worry about the expiration date. Then you have no pressure, and can use them at your leisure....

Oh, here's another idea - you can try the chocolate chip diet. I read about it in Horizons once. "Repackage" the bag in to sandwich bags with about 7 choc. chips each and stash them in an inconvenient location. When you NEED to sit down with a good book (read: Imamother) and a nosh, take one bag...slooooowly suck on each chip...when you finish them, it will be too much trouble to go get another pack --- and your "nosh" consisted of only 7 chocolate chips!

I read that article too, but I don't get the whole concept.
I don't have enough willpower to open the package and eat less than half of it in one sitting, right? So what makes you think I will manage to get just one little baggie from that high shelf?!

On a more practical note, def you could put them in the freezer. Anyway I don't think anything terrible will happen to out-of-date chocolate, other than a slight amount of discolouration.

The back of the Craisin bag has a fantastic recipe for White Chocolate Chip-Craisin Oatmeal cookies. I don't have the recipe but I'm sure you can find it on the Craisin website. Or just use your favorite oatmeal cookie recipe and throw in the chocolate and Craisins.
